Saint Germain des Pres
Cafes and jazz clubs of the Saint-Germain district became famous thanks
to their writers and artists. At the end of the XIXth century, Verlaine,
Rimbaud and Mallarmé made the reputation of the cafés
"Les Deux Magots" and "Le Café Flore". In 1925 they became the
meeting point of surrealist artists but also of Picasso, Saint Exupéry
or Hemingway. In the 50's , Jean Paul Sartre and Simone de Beauvoir
wrote there every day. |
